Host your next art class, workshop or info session at Magenta - and support a not-for-profit while you're at it.
Magenta is a fully stocked creative studio in the heart of Nelson's CBD.
Hiring our space helps fund the work we do alongside artists with lived experience of mental distress - so your booking goes further than the four walls.
The studio is available from 4pm onwards Monday to Saturday, and all day on Sundays. Daytime hire is sometimes possible too - see below.
Hourly Hire
$30 — venue hire only
$20 for arts supply use
Monday to Saturday, 4pm onwards. Ideal for evening classes, workshops, meetings or info sessions.
Includes full use of the studio and facilities (sewing machines, art supplies and equipment).
All Day Hire (Sundays)
$100 — community rate
Sundays, all day. Great for full workshops, retreats or longer sessions.
Includes full use of the studio and facilities (sewing machines, art supplies and equipment). A small koha is appreciated if consumables are used.
Daytime Hire - By Arrangement
$30-$100 — community rate
Monday to Saturday daytime sessions are sometimes available where there's mutual benefit - for example, where our artists can join in the session. We currently host a Monday morning figure drawing class on this basis.
